What is a multipart upload?
Short answer
A resumable upload protocol that splits large files into chunks and resumes if the connection drops.
Full definition
Multipart upload splits a large file (a 25 GB wedding film, a 200 MB RAW set) into smaller chunks that upload independently and reassemble on the server. If the connection drops at chunk 47 of 100, the upload resumes at chunk 48 instead of restarting from zero. 12img uses Tus.js for resumable multipart upload of video and large RAW files, which makes flaky-Wi-Fi venues much less painful.
